·  A taxi from the airport to the Margarita Hostel charges about 15 $/ 40.000 bs [from the center of Porlamar about 10 $/ 30.000 bs from the ferry-port ("Punta de Piedras") about 20 $/ 50.000 bs] - (information: 03/07) –

By Bus:                             

-- It’s really cheap, about 50 cents---

       (about 35 to 45 minutes travel time from Porlamar City/ depending on traffic)

 

·        The bus stop is nearby Plaza Bolívar - ask for “Linea Playa el Agua” the last bus leaves around 9 p.m.

 

(Usually there’s no schedule for busses in Venezuela. The Bus leaves when all seats are occupied)

 

·        Passing the main entrance to “Playa el Agua” get off the bus (tell the driver to stop there):

 

·        Turn left the second street (diagonally opposite of the Farmacia - pharmacy) –

 

(The street has a wide entrance similar to a “Y”- you’ll see a small red kiosk in the entrance, and you’re on the right way).

 

·        The street is called: Calle Diaz Ordaz, but the neighbors know it better as: “la calle del taller de Oscar”- because Mr. Oscar has his well known garage there.-

 

·        Follow this street - almost at the end of it you’ll see on your right hand site behind a black gate the big Indian Palm Roof Top (In Venezuela this is called: Churuata, by it’s native Indigenous name).

 

·        Looking into the lot you’ll see on both “border walls” the writing:

 

“HOTEL    F.G.”; this was the former Name of the Guesthouse. Some

If you don’t mention “ La Mira”, he may bring you to a hotel in the ordinary touristy area of Playa El Agua (…maybe even of his choice…if he is bought…). The most convenient and reasonable priced way to make phone calls in Venezuela is to buy a UNICA (“Tarjeta UNICA/ 10.000bs”) – This is a prepaid phone card which works with a secret number from any phone for national (including mobile-phones) and international calls  - but you’ll get the instructions just in Spanish.

 

The other, easier way is to buy a common CANTV Card (“Tarjeta CANTV”)

Taxifahrern und den Anwohnern von La Mira/ Playa El Agua ist die Posada (Gasthaus, Unterkunft, Hostel, kleines preiswertes Hotel, Herberge, Zimmervermietung, ...) noch als "Hotel F.G" bekannt.

Außer mit dem nationalen und internationalen Flug kommt man auch mit der Fähre aus Cumaná, oder Puerto la Cruz (Caracas nur einmal die Woche) auf die Insel Margarita.
Ein volksnaher Geheimtipp ist das Personenboot, welches nahe der Kleinstadt Carúpano, auf dem Festland Venezuelas gegenüber der Insel, ab- und anlegt.
Du kommst direkt in Porlamar an.

 

Wenn du von Porlamar oder vom Flughafen/ Fähre (“Punta de Piedras”) kommst:

Mit dem Bus:  - richtig billig! - die Fahrt  kostet zurzeit umgerechnet etwa 50 Cent. –

                            -  ungefähr 35 – 45 min. Fahrtzeit von der Innenstadt/ Porlamar. -
- Die Bushaltestelle ist nahe der Plaza Bolívar / "Centro de Porlamar" - Zentrum von Porlamar).
- Frage nach: „El autobús para Playa el Agua" oder " La Linea Playa El Agua" (Üblicherweise gibt es – zumindest im Kurzstreckenverkehr - keine Busfahrpläne in Venezuela, Auch die Busse auf der Isla Margarita fahren los, wenn alle Plätze belegt sind. Der letzte Bus nach Playa El Agua fährt gegen 9 Uhr am Abend los).
- Nach der Haupteinfahrt von Playa el Agua (rechte Seite) steigst du aus dem Bus - sage dem Fahrer er soll dort halten. du biegst in die zweite Strasse auf der linken Seite-schräg gegenüber (vor) der FARMACIA (Apotheke). - Die Strasse hat eine etwas weitere (leicht "Y- förmige" Einfahrt). Unverkennbar ist der kleine, rote Kiosk in der Straßeneinfahrt.

- Die Strasse heißt zwar „Calle Díaz Ordáz“, aber die Anwohner kennen sie meist besser unter dem Namen:“ la Calle del taller de Oscar“; weil Herr Oscar hier seine bekannte Autowerkstatt hat.
- Hier geht es fast bis zu deren Ende und du siehst auf der rechten Seite durch ein schwarzes Tor das große indianische Palmdach (Ven:“Churuata“, nach der original indianischen Bezeichnung)). - Wenn du nun in das Grundstück hineinschaust, und auf beiden, inneren Mauern zu den Grundstücken der lieben Nachbarn die Aufschrift: „Hotel F.G.“ siehst, dann bist du richtig. („ Hotel F.G. war der frühere Name des Gästehauses, manche Anwohner kennen das Hotel vielleicht noch unter diesem Namen. Frage also ruhig auch danach.)

·        Bitte erkläre dem Taxifahrer, dass du nach LA MIRA – PLAYA EL AGUA gebracht werden willst. Wenn du nicht LA MIRA erwähnst, fährt er dich möglicherweise aus Gewohnheit in die pauschaltouristische Zone der Ferienanlagen.(u.U.. sogar in ein Ouartier seiner Wahl, da gewisse Unterbringungen Kommissionen zahlen, wodurch sich manche Taxifahrer verleitet sehen andere Herbergen nicht zu kennen oder in ein schlechtes Licht zu rücken..)VENEZUELA GUIDES – MARGARITA HOSTEL ist in der noch  ursprünglichen Siedlung  LA MIRA gelegen. – Das wirkliche Dorf von "Playa El Agua" zwischen den von Regenwald bewachsenen, grünen Bergen und dem karibischen Strand,  in welchem der größte Teil der lokalen einheimischen Bevölkerung, Kleinbauern und Fischer der Region „Playa El Agua“ ansässig ist

Die praktischste und wohl auch günstigste Methode in Venezuela (Isla Margarita eingeschlossen) zu telefonieren ist, eine UNICARD zu kaufen. (Tarjeta UNICARD/ ab 10.000bs”) – Dies ist eine Prepaid Telefonkarte, mit welcher man nach Eingabe einer Geheimnummer von jedem Telefon in Venezuela nationale (auch auf Mobiltelefone) und internationale Gespräche führen kann. Die Anweisungen sind allerdings nur in spanisch

 

Ein anderer, vielleicht einfacherer Weg ist, eine gewöhnliche CANTV-Karte (Tarjeta CANTV) zu kaufen. Diese funktioniert nur bei den öffentlichen Telefonen der CANTV (amtliche venezolanische Telefongesellschaft), aber Du musst nur die Karte einschieben und die gewünschte Nummer wählen.

 

Die Karten sind an Kiosken und im Allgemeinen dort wo es Zeitungen und Zigaretten gibt, Bäckereien und überall wo das entsprechende Schild steht erhältlich.
